A Snapshot: TDYLF’s First Birthday Party

I had a little party last night to celebrate my blog’s first birthday. I also invited some friends. Left to right:

The Dude, Edgar Wright, Angela Lansbury, Ingmar Bergman, John Blutarsky (Belushi), me, Death, Catherine Deneuve, Martin Scorsese, Buster Keaton, Luis Buñuel, Toshiro Mifune, Brigitte Bardot

  1. Dude

Nice. Love Mifune as cake slicer. I’d like to think that Belushi and the Dude would have been amigos in college…Dude became, well, the Dude and Belushi became a Senator.

  2. So what’s in the keg?

    • Dude

It’s light colored. (check the glass) So my vote is for Spotted Cow.

      • That’s as good an answer as any. So… why not. Let’s say it’s New Glarus Spotted Cow (though really, all I ever intended was just the generic “fancy beer”).

Re: Belushi/Mifune, I especially love that Belushi got the inspiration for the Samurai Deli guy from a Kurosawa marathon.

  3. Cue Mickey Rourke in full Bukowski mode shouting “To All My Friendzzzzzzzz!”

  4. It’s strange how oddly suitable your pairing of Bergman and Wright seems to me.
