If there are two things I love, it’s Goodfellas (1990) and making fun of shitty romantic comedy clichés. Chief among the rom-com clichés is the poster art, which has five or six different templates to choose from. Just add two actors who have given up on awards and you’ve got yourself a rom-com poster. Here’s one version of how a Goodfellas poster could play out if it were a rom-com.

Ha! Good Stuff! Love the pink gun with the heart! As I think you well know, I am no fan of the romantic comedy. They are generally to be avoided. The covers as a rule reflect the exact sort of mucky-muck-vomit-inducing nonsense I expect them to contain. There was a trend in horror film covers that still exists (see Twilight cover) where the film posters/dvd art featured the attractive cast symmentrically placed like Valentine, Urban Legend and I Know What You Did Last Summer.Those films and their lame-ass covers can suck it!

Apparently, that actor- Frank Sivero- was an extra in the Sonny-whoops-Carlo scene in The Godfather.
Although obviously, I had to look up his name. To me, he’s just frozen Carbone.
If GoodFellas was a rom-com, then it might be My Blue Heaven with Steve Martin and Rick Moranis. A former mob big shot in witness protection reverts to his old ways which I believe did happen in part with the real Henry Hill of GoodFellas fame prior to his legitimate restaurant and spaghetti sauce businesses (perhaps fronts? idk). Btw, congrats on lammy nominee 2013 for best blog. 😉
