Great Moments in Movie History: Planet of the Apes

After enjoying Rise of the Planet of the Apes so much a month ago, I realized that the only other movie in the series that I had seen was the original. Inspired, I re-watched the original and then watched the rest of the original five films in the series (this excludes the Burton film). And while the rest had their flaws, they also had plenty of fun. I enjoyed it. In fact, I enjoyed it enough that I was motivated to create a “Great Moment in Movie History” for 1968’s Planet of the Apes. Enjoy! As always, click on the image for the full-resolution version. He Had Hart, Man: The 11 Best Phil Hartman Characters

This Saturday would have been Phil Hartman’s 63rd birthday. I miss the guy a lot. He was the utility player on SNL during my formative years. He voiced some of the most memorable characters in the history of The Simpsons, and the show hasn’t quite been the same since he died. Every movie he was in- no matter how bad- was made better by his presence. The world was robbed of a lot of laughs when he died.
