A lot of aspects help create a movie’s thumbprint. Acting, writing, foley, and score all come to mind. Another aspect that comes to mind is cinematography. Whether you realize it or not, films have a unique color palette that can invoke any number of feelings. Here are some examples.

Natalie Portman has recently come under fire after it became public knowledge that she may not have done all of the dancing in Black Swan. It has caused quite a stir, with some people suggesting that she didn’t deserve the Best Actress Oscar that she won for her turn as Nina Sayers. I could give some sort of preamble here, an introductory paragraph of sorts. Doors reference aside, I think the headline is as much truth in advertising as you’ll ever find. What is this? It’s a list of movie characters who were lit on fire. It all begins with a spark:

I suppose this also includes Rachel Dawes- both were taken down via explosion. But Harvey’s trial by fire is the one that we witnessed.

I passed a milestone recently here at TDYLF. Thanks to the help of the editors over at IMDB, I passed the 100,000 Hits milestone on Sunday (with a whopping 80,000+ of those hits coming just since September 30th).
